Retirement Homes
Retirement Homes are privately owned and operated. They are suitable for seniors who are independent but may require minimal assistance. They organize monthly social activities.

Assisted Living
Retirement Home Assisted living offers seniors help with their activities of daily living (ADL’s). Some of the services are bathing and dressing. 

Some residences have an assisted living area that is both secure and can accommodate a senior with dementia.

Long-term Care Homes (Nursing Home)
If a person needs additional care beyond what is provided by a retirement home, a Long-term Care Home should be considered. A Long-term care home provides 24 hour nursing care. They are licensed by the Ministry of Health and long term care.  They are either owned by the government or privately owned.
